Deep groove ball bearings are among the most widely used bearing types due to their simple construction, versatility, and ability to operate at high speeds. They feature deep, continuous raceway grooves in the inner and outer rings, allowing them to support radial loads as well as limited axial loads in both directions.
Angular contact ball bearings are designed to support combined radial and axial loads, with their raceways positioned at an angle relative to each other. They are well suited for applications requiring high accuracy, rigidity, and reliable axial guidance. Contact angles typically range from 15° to 45°.
Self-aligning ball bearings feature two rows of balls and a common spherical raceway in the outer ring. This construction allows them to compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and housing caused by shaft deflection or housing deformation.
Thrust ball bearings are designed primarily to accommodate axial or thrust loads acting parallel to the shaft. They consist of thrust washers, precision balls, and a cage, and are available in configurations that support axial loads in one or both directions. They are generally suitable for low-speed applications.
Miniature ball bearings, also known as micro bearings or instrument bearings, are precision-engineered components designed for applications requiring compact dimensions and accurate rotation. They consist of inner and outer rings, balls, retainers, and, depending on the design, shields or snap rings.
